2025 was another busy year for the AI4C network. Chair Paul Excell took a moment to reflect on the successes and achievements of this ever-growing learning exchange…
Many exciting charity use cases were shared for collaborative learning, and several charities received direct pro bono support from WCIT members on specific AI challenges. The AI4C (together with funding from the WCIT Charity) also supported the development and launch of the new Charity Digital Code of Practice.
Thought leadership remained a key element of the community and experts presented on a variety of topics including agentic AI, the impacts of AI on communications and marketing, creating donor personas with the help of AI, and using AI to rapidly prototype digital services.
Meanwhile, Paul was very active in the wider community. He spoke at the Almshouse Association AGM on how AI could help homes and communities, chaired several sessions at the Global AI Summit, and attended various All Party Parliamentary Groups on AI.
With over 80 charities now engaged, and dozens of WCIT Members providing their insights and expertise for free, AI4C continues to be a valuable, collaborative and inclusive community that allows UK charities and not-for-profits of all shapes and sizes to explore the opportunities and challenges of AI in a safe and supportive environment.
