At AI4C’s summer workshop, Richard Davis, former Chief Data Officer at OFCOM, gave his take on the data challenges and opportunities from AI, with one major opportunity being Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), a technique for enhancing the accuracy and reliability of generative AI models with facts fetched from external sources. Data scientist Elle Neal explained the options charities had when using Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI-driven chatbots, then gave a live demonstration of how RAG LLMs could provide an affordable and viable option.
Charity members of AI4C once again benefitted from the insights of industry experts, and were able to question the speakers on aspects relevant to their own projects. In addition, members are able to have ad-hoc discussions with WCIT members and technical experts in between workshops at no cost, and they also have access to six years’ worth of case studies, lessons learnt, reports and insights covering ethic, data management, working with sensitive information, legal considerations and more.
